DIRF: Building on our heritage, shaping our future

A board message from the Chair and Vice Chair on our renewed strategy and visual identity

Dear DIRF members,

DIRF was founded by IR professionals for IR professionals in 1988, and since then our association has brought together Investor Relations professionals across the Danish capital market. Over the years, it has built a strong professional community based on knowledge-sharing, trusted relationships and a genuine willingness to help one another. We have great respect for that, and we believe it is worth preserving and developing.

Over the past year, the DIRF Board has worked together to review our association’s purpose, vision and values and define the direction we believe DIRF should take in the years ahead. This has been a collective effort, shaped by the different experiences, perspectives and commitment of our fellow board members, with valuable support from the secretariat.

One thing that has stayed with us from these discussions is just how differently Investor Relations is organised and practised across companies. Some members work in large, established IR teams, while others have a much broader role and fewer colleagues to turn to. Yet many of the challenges we face are surprisingly similar. For both of us, this is exactly why DIRF matters. Being able to pick up the phone, ask a colleague for advice and learn from someone who has faced a similar situation is often how we develop professionally and challenge our own thinking.

The profession continues to evolve, and so do the expectations placed on IR professionals. We believe DIRF has an important role to play in supporting that development, not only by bringing people together, but also by helping members strengthen their competencies, exchange best practices and stay connected to developments across the capital markets.

These priorities reflect what we both care deeply about: making DIRF a place where professional relationships and shared knowledge translate into real value for our members. They also reflect the shared ambition of the DIRF Board and our collective commitment to turning the renewed strategy into action.

The result of our work is a renewed strategy for DIRF and, as its most visible expression, a refreshed visual identity, which we are pleased to introduce.

Our ambition

DIRF will be the leading and most relevant network and best-practice forum for Investor Relations professionals in Denmark, distinguished by strong member engagement, targeted professional value and an operating model that supports consistent execution, visibility and long-term impact.

Three strategic pillars

Our strategy rests on three pillars, developed through the Board’s collective work, which will guide how we strengthen DIRF and create value for our members.

  1. Network leadership

Our members are the core of DIRF. We will strengthen its role as the leading and most relevant professional network for all IR profiles in Denmark, creating more targeted engagement opportunities across roles, seniority levels, company segments and geographies. We will improve onboarding, increase member-touchpoints throughout the year and articulate more clearly the value of participation. Every member should feel able to contribute.

  1. Member value and capability

The IR profession and the capital markets are changing, and we want to help members respond to the evolving needs of the business and financial ecosystem. We will strengthen best-practice sharing, establish more structured professional development and tailor formats to distinct member needs. This includes exploring training partnerships, mentorship initiatives and stronger exposure to the international developments shaping the profession.

  1. Organisational effectiveness

To deliver on our ambition, we will continue strengthening how DIRF itself works through clearer governance, sharper prioritisation, measurable KPIs and a more disciplined and scalable operating model. This has been an important part of the Board’s work and reflects our shared responsibility to ensure that DIRF’s resources are directed towards the initiatives that create the greatest value for members. It may not be the most visible part of our work, but we consider it an important investment in the future of the association.

Priorities for the coming period

We are proud of the direction we have established together with our fellow board members, but we also recognise that a strategy only becomes meaningful when members can experience it. Our shared focus is therefore on turning these pillars into relevant activities, stronger networks and real opportunities for professional development.

Our priorities are to:

  • Establish a clearer annual planning framework
  • Launch more differentiated member networks
  • Strengthen onboarding and member engagement
  • Align governance and KPI structures
  • Rebew the DIRFday format
  • Improve communication processes and channel effectiveness

Delivering on these priorities will require continued collaboration across the Board and secretariat, as well as active involvement from our members.

A new look, with the same logo

Alongside the strategy, we are introducing an updated visual identity and digital presence. We have deliberately kept the familiar DIRF logo, recognising the history and reputation it represents. The refreshed identity is intended to give DIRF a more consistent and contemporary expression while remaining true to the association we know.

Our website and communication platforms are also part of this development, with the aim of making it easier for members to stay informed, participate in activities and engage with the DIRF community. We look forward to sharing these improvements as they are introduced.

Your input

For us, the most important part of this next chapter is not how DIRF looks, but what DIRF means to its members. We want it to be a professional community that people actively engage with, contribute to and turn to when they need inspiration, knowledge or a trusted network.

That is not something a board or a secretariat can create alone. It depends on the engagement, experience and willingness to contribute that have always been part of DIRF’s strength. We would therefore genuinely welcome your thoughts. What do you value most about the association? Where do you see opportunities for us to do more? And how can we make better use of the knowledge and experience that already exists within our community?

We would also like to thank our fellow board members for their dedication, constructive discussions and important contributions throughout the strategy process. The renewed direction for DIRF is the result of a collective effort, and we look forward to continuing this work together with the full Board, the secretariat and, most importantly, our members.

Thank you for your continued trust and engagement. We look forward to building the next chapter of DIRF together.
